Let Me Explain...

You might have noticed the added features/gadgets along side the posts. The bookshelf is to show what books I plan to read this month. I know, I haven't read eight books in a month in how long? But that is the goal, nonetheless. (I've already read one, so I'm further ahead than you think!) By the way, Give Up the Ghost by Megan Crewe - great read, people!

Then there's the Contemps Challenge widget under the bookshelf. The challenge is, if I recall, to read at least 14 out of around 20 listed titles at the site before the end of August 2011, and do a review of them.

All the titles are contemporary young adult titles to be released within the one year span. Two of the titles,  The Duff: Designated Ugly Fat Friend  by Kody Keplinger, and Losing Faith by Denise Jaden, have already been released.

Are there any other new YA titles out this month that I should get my hands on?

Paranormalcy! Mockingjay! Those are the only books I'm current on right now because I usually wait to buy books until they've been out for a while... :)

I just finished The Duff the other day and it was SO good!! I don't know of any other contemps out this month, but if you haven't read Sea by Heidi Kling you must get it! It's fabulous!!

And, of course, Daisy Whitney's, The Mockingbirds comes out November 2. It's also great! You must check it out when it hits the bookshelves. :)

Have a great weekend!!

Yay for you, being so ambitious! There are so many great YA novels out there. I have MOCKINGJAY waiting on my bookshelf, but I'm currently reading REBEL ANGELS by Libba Bray. It hasn't just been released, but it's excellent. REBEL ANGELS is the second book in the Gemma Doyle Trilogy. You probably already knew that, but I figured I'd mention it, just in case. :)

Thanks for visiting my blog!

I've heard nothing but good things about Anna and the French Kiss but I have no idea how "new" it is.

I have a Kobo, too. I've been buying real books though, mostly because I didn't realize most of the new releases are going to Kobo from day one. Plus, I have a lot of Chapter's gift cards.

I ordered Losing Faith last week. It's in the mail. :D (The DUFF isn't in the mail yet!)

Dawn - I have Rebel Angels, too. Can't wait to get into that one!

Jolene - I haven't found Anna and the French Kiss yet. Who wrote it?

Stina - I convert all my airmiles to Chapters gift cards! Kobo is supposed to be accepting them, soon. I can't wait!

Thanks for stopping by the Tiki Hut. Wish I could read eight books a month. It's been a long time for me, too, since I've done that.
